Champagne Library Report 2017/2018 with Cyril Brun, Champagne Charles Heidsieck Chef de Caves

Vintage 2017 in Champagne: Heavy rainfall in August, especially in the Marne Valley, many growers and chef de caves thinking of  2017 as one of their most difficult year in their careers.
2018 advanced to the exact opposite: a perennial winter rains were followed by a sunny spring and a hot summer.

Rapid flowering, healthy grapes in perfect condition, an early harvest, starting on August 20, the fifth harvest in the last 15 years, which started in August, maximum yield of 10,800 kilograms per hectare, euphoric forecasts.

Charles Heidsieck is one of the most traditional houses, founded in 1851 by the fast-paced Charles Camille. Currently, Cyril Brun is Chef de Cave and here he talks about his extraordinary experiences with the harvests of the last two years.
