Harvest 2020 in Champagne: Maximum yield 8,000 kilograms of grapes per hectare

After the start of the harvest in Champagne on August 17th representatives of winemakers and Champagne houses agreed a day later on a maximum yield of 8,000 kilograms per hectare.

For comparison: in 2019, an average of 10,200 kilos per hectare was harvested.

The winemakers had been waiting for this decision since June; the low yield is due to a drop in sales of more than 30 percent.
