Harvest in Champagne: Impressions from Cramant by Champagne Philippe Glavier

After the strange 2021 harvest with rain, storm, hail and not many grapes, there was a sigh of relief this year: 12,000 kilos of healthy grapes were harvested. This is the highest yield per hectare since 2007.

While flowering was around June 15 two decades ago, it is now around May 30. The grape harvest officially began in Cramant on August 29th. In 1869 one still had to wait until November 7.

More on that coming soon in the Champagne 2022 Vintage Report: interviews, opinions, comments, predictions and expectations.
