Champagne Jacquesson Cuvée N° 743 plus Blanc de Blancs Avize 1990
Two bottles, both empty: a love that doesn't wait. Once again, one of the many Champagne paradoxes needs to be solved: drink quickly, while at the same time irrevocably prolonging the tender moments. Two bottles, both empty: N° 743, the second youngest edition from the 700 series, based on the 2015 harvest, with 60 percent Pinot from Ay, Dizy and Hautvillers, and Chardonnay from Avize and Oiry. The ripe and healthy grapes are noticeable in this wine, with a nice level of acidity: a power house, disgorged at the end of 2019, in which the Pinot noir has now taken control and supremacy. It may be difficult to find a recent non-vintage Brut that can compete with this 743. Dosage zero. How to continue? With an aged Chardonnay from Avize from the same producer. The golden color with the elegant shimmer evokes desire. "A noble wine," commented one taster in awe. Another taster asked where the wine came from and started counting the years.
